This role blends technical leadership with hands-on engineering oversight, ideal for someone who can lead teams while driving high-quality delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the Mechanical Engineering team Oversee lifecycle delivery of mechanical/electromechanical systems Ensure quality of designs, analyses, and technical documentation Manage resources, recruitment, and team capability Drive delivery against cost, schedule, and performance targets Improve engineering processes, standards, and best practices Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple programmes Skills & Experience Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Experience in defence, maritime, or aerospace systems Strong knowledge of design, manufacturing, and analysis Proven team leadership and capability development Ability to review and approve engineering outputs Strong stakeholder communication skills Desirable Chartered Engineer status CREO, Windchill or similar CAD/PLM tools Knowledge of REACH/RoHS, FEA, CFD Note: SC Clearance required (or eligibility to obtain).
