Mechanical Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and ventilation systems in commercial fit out projects.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems in commercial fit out projects for offices and commercial spaces.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to develop comprehensive cost proposals for commercial fit outs.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with commercial fit out project requirements.
• Conduct site visits in Sutton and surrounding areas to assess project scope and inform cost estimates for mechanical installations.
• Source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for HVAC, plumbing, and ventilation materials specific to commercial fit outs.
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and tender submissions to clients and stakeholders.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards for commercial mechanical installations.
• Review and manage estimate revisions based on changes in project scope or client requirements for commercial fit outs.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and labour rates in the building services and commercial fit out sector.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all cost estimates for commercial projects.
• Support the tendering process by providing technical input and cost advice for commercial fit out bids.

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in building services, with a focus on commercial fit out projects for offices and commercial spaces.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and ventilation systems for commercial fit out environments.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Causeway) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or BIM software is highly desirable for commercial fit out projects.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret technical drawings and specifications for mechanical systems.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams in Sutton.
• Mechanical experience / Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent experience in commercial fit out projects.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates under tight commercial project deadlines.
• Knowledge of cost optimisation strategies in commercial fit out construction.
