This role offers genuine scope for progression, making it ideal for both experienced estimators and those looking to step into a more senior position within a supportive and well-structured pre-construction team. About the Company This is a respected and long-established M&E Building Services contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical installations across a diverse portfolio of projects. Known for their collaborative culture and commitment to quality, they have built long-term relationships with clients and offer a stable, professional environment where individuals are trusted and supported to develop. The Role As a Mechanical Estimator / Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical building services projects, working closely with pre-construction, commercial, and delivery teams. You will play a key role in the tendering process, ensuring submissions are both technically accurate and commercially competitive, with clear visibility across project scope, risks, and opportunities. Key Responsibilities Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical building services projects Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, and drawings Producing accurate take-offs and pricing schedules Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations Supporting bid submissions and tender presentations Working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover to delivery Identifying value engineering opportunities where appropriate Requirements Experience working as a Mechanical Estimator or Senior Mechanical Estimator within the Building Services sector Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems Experience pricing commercial building services projects Good technical and commercial awareness Ability to interpret drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team Remuneration Package – Mechanical Estimator / Senior Mechanical Estimator £65,000–£80,000 Car allowance or company vehicle (including EV options) Bonus scheme Private healthcare (Bupa) Hybrid working (typically 1–2 days from home) Pension Genuine career progression opportunities This role would suit candidates currently working as: Mechanical Estimator, M&E Estimator, Senior Mechanical Estimator, Building Services Estimator, MEP Estimator Next Steps Please apply online today, or contact Rob at David Leslie Ltd for an informal and confidential discussion.
