Mechanical Estimator

Our client is a growing mechanical building services contractor delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and residential sectors throughout the Midlands and the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Estimator to strengthen our expanding pre construction team.

The Role

Working alongside our Senior Estimators and Commercial Team, you will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate tenders for a wide range of mechanical building services projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator looking to develop their career within a successful and forward thinking contractor.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical building services projects.

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

• Carry out material take-offs and prepare pricing schedules.

• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.

• Support tender submissions and project handovers.

• Liaise with clients, consultants and the wider project team throughout the estimating process.

• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and the supply chain.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the Building Services or M&E sector.

• Good knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, heating and pipework installations.

• Experience pricing projects from approximately £100k to £5m.

• Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.

• Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable

• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.

• Knowledge of estimating software such as Trimble, Ensign or Estimation.

• Experience working for a mechanical contractor.
