Mechanical Estimator

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting a Mechanical Estimator for a leading family owned building contractor based in County Durham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a brand-new role within the business, working alongside the Head of Mechanical to help drive the continued growth of an expanding mechanical division.
Candidates who are already an experienced Mechanical Estimator or come from a mechanical background with estimating experience are invited to apply.
What you'll be doing
Preparing high-quality competitive tenders for commercial and domestic mechanical projects and responding to client queries.
Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents.
Producing accurate take-offs and detailed cost estimates.
Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
Carrying out occasional site visits.
Working closely with our design, commercial and operations teams.
Helping improve our estimating systems and processes.
What we're looking for
Experience within the mechanical sector, including plumbing, heating or ventilation.
Knowledge of mechanical services in commercial and domestic projects.
Estimating experience within mechanical services.
Good commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills.
A proactive, positive, team-focused approach.

Salary of £40,000–£60,000, depending on experience, plus benefits
