Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking for a role that offers quality projects, long-term security and a more balanced working environment?
We're working with one of the UK's best known M&E contractors that has built its success on long-term framework relationships rather than chasing highly competitive one-off tenders. As a result, this is not your typical high-pressure estimating role.
With an average T/O of c£30m to £35m and strong relationships across the public and private sectors, the business offers a stable pipeline of work and a collaborative, supportive culture.

The Opportunity

The majority of projects are delivered through frameworks and repeat clients, with schemes typically 80-90% designed before reaching the estimating team. This creates a more structured and predictable environment, allowing you to focus on producing high-quality estimates rather than dealing with constant last-minute tender deadlines and heavily contested bids.
You'll be responsible for preparing mechanical estimates, analysing tender documentation and engaging with the supply chain to secure competitive and compliant quotations.
Typical project values range from £2m to £18m M&E, with an average project size of £4m-£5m.

Key Responsibilities

* Producing accurate mechanical estimates and cost plans

* Reviewing tender and project documentation

* Obtaining and analysing subcontractor quotations

* Ensuring compliance of supply chain partners

* Supporting framework and negotiated opportunities

* Working closely with pre-construction and operational teams

About the Team

You'll join the Leeds team which is part of an established Northern estimating function supporting projects across Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.

What We're Looking For

* Experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the Building Services / M&E sector

* Strong technical understanding of mechanical installations

* Ability to review tenders and assess project risks

* Experience managing subcontractor enquiries and quotations

* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
