Mechanical Fitter

Fitter – Les Vardes Quarry,

An opportunity to join a leading player in the construction sector as a Fitter at Les Vardes Quarry, Guernsey. Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Manager, you'll keep the site and its equipment running safely and efficiently.
The role - Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on site plant and equipment - Respond quickly and flexibly to breakdowns
Complete daily plant inspections
Monitor and log all breakdowns and stoppages
Complete and follow all safety documentation
Help develop safe working practices
Keep a high standard of housekeeping and look after the plant assets in your care - Work closely with site management
What you'll bring - Experience as a Fitter,
Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline
Ability to read engineering drawings
Ability to plan and deliver maintenance schedules
A solid grasp of Health & Safety
Good organisation,
IT skills and the ability to work to deadlines
Strong communication and teamwork
Nice to have - Working at height and confined space qualifications
Forklift licence
Experience planning crane lifts
No quarry experience? If you have a mechanical background in another industrial setting, full cross-training is provided.
