We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Installation Engineer to join a busy engineering team delivering industrial automation and conveyor solutions. This role is a mix of workshop preparation and on-site mechanical installation, ideal for hands-on engineers with experience installing conveyors, machinery, and mechanical handling equipment who enjoy working on real industrial systems.

Key Responsibilities
Preparing mechanical equipment, assemblies, and systems in the workshop prior to installation Installing conveyor systems, mechanical handling equipment, and associated machinery on customer sites Carrying out mechanical assembly, alignment, fitting, and installation work to a high standard Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and assembly layouts Supporting commissioning activities by ensuring mechanical installations are completed to specification Working closely with electrical and controls engineers to ensure successful project delivery Travelling to customer sites, approximately 70% of the role
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Strong experience as a Mechanical Installation Engineer or Mechanical Fitter Proven experience installing conveyor systems and material handling equipment Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation Experience with mechanical assembly, alignment, and installation of industrial machinery Ability to work independently both on-site and in the workshop Willingness to travel regularly
Desirable:
Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments Knowledge of pneumatics and mechanical drive systems Experience supporting commissioning and factory acceptance testing (FAT/SAT)
