Job Description - Mechanical Integrity Engineer
Job Responsibilities, Key Accountabilities, Duties and Tasks:
Responsible for the management and oversight of the Inspection Services Contract, controlling the whole process from planning
inspections, the execution, through to decision making and review. (e.g. what is expected of the contracted service, performance monitoring, review and taking an appropriate response).
Responsible for the management and oversight of the Integrity Management/Risk Based Inspection. Ensuring high quality record
keeping such that Terminal equipment history and forward plans (scope and frequency of inspections) can easily be traced andjustified.
Reads, understands, and acts on the findings from inspections and ensures entities are correct in the Integrity Management
Software and the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and that information is shared with cooperation between the different parties involved.
Manage all integrity inspection data in an organised and professional manner to support compliance, optimisation and
improvement opportunities for Management.
Ensures conformance to specifications with quality and consistent implementation of work methods and procedures, to conduct
regular audits/data verification to ensure SHLNG maintains compliance. Prepares periodical progress reports on the asset integrity KPI's and weekly and monthly reports to management about theprogress of all initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
Ensures all Company Policies, Procedures and Standards are followed.
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience in development and implementation of Asset Integrity Management program.
Extensive experience in Oil, Gas or Petrochemicals Industries in inspection, thickness monitoring, RBI and corrosion management.
Maintenance and Project Engineering experience in petroleum and gas industries.
Skills
A wide spread of technical knowledge on inspection principles, frequencies, equipment damage mechanisms and the types and
techniques of inspection
Sound knowledge of Assets integrity Software (e.g. Predix) and Computerised Maintenance Management System (e.g. SAP).
Write effective technical reports and to present complex technical information in a clear and concise way.
Familiarity with: TEMA, ASME, API, ASTM and AISI codes; understanding of the basic principles of corrosion, metallurgy and materials
of construction, welding procedures, refractory selection and application procedures.
Physical inspection requiring climbing up, crawling through and walking on pressure vessels and piping at the plant. During plant
turnarounds inspectors assess equipment condition, issue repair recommendations, verify suitable completion of the repairs, andforecast future repairs.
