Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

• Annual Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 (DOE)

We are seeking a skilled Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering business based in Medway, Kent. This role involves maintaining site production equipment and facilities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in a similar engineering environment.

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of all mechanical equipment and systems to ensure operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults in production equipment and facility infrastructure.
• Implement preventative maintenance measures to minimise equipment downtime and extend lifespan.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Document maintenance activities, including repairs made, parts used, and time spent, to maintain accurate records for future reference.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance procedures and reduce costs.

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, specifically with a mechanical bias.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components used in industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Proficient in using tools and equipment necessary for mechanical repairs and maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
