Job Description - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

We're currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the maintenance team of a respected and forward-thinking building services provider in West London. Based at a premium site in Fulham, you’ll be part of an established and supportive team. This role comes with a competitive salary and the added benefit of fully covered travel to and from site.

In this Mechanical Engineer role, you’ll be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations, reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, and maintaining strong client relationships through professional service delivery.

To be considered, you’ll need to be qualified in a mechanical discipline (City & Guilds / NVQ / EAL or equivalent), have at least 3 years of experience in commercial building services, and live within easy commuting distance to Fulham. A proactive and client-facing attitude is essential.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Duties:

  • Complete scheduled PPM tasks and respond to reactive maintenance requests
  • Service and maintain Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
  • Overhaul pumps including replacing bearings and seals
  • Maintain and test building sprinkler systems
  • Conduct water treatment procedures (including dosing, temperature checks, and cooling tower monitoring)
  • Carry out routine tap temperature checks
  • Service and adjust Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
  • Inspect and repair mechanical valves as required
  • Support chilled water system maintenance
  • Handle general plumbing tasks and minor repairs
  • Assist with generator upkeep and inspections
  • Maintain pressurisation equipment
  • Operate and monitor the Building Management System (BMS)


Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

  • Recognised mechanical qualification (C&G, EAL, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial mechanical maintenance
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach
  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship (preferred but not essential)


Salary and Package:

  • £45,000 annual salary
  • Paid travel to and from the site
  • Monday to Friday schedule, 8:00am - 5:00pm
