A fantastic opportunity for a genuinely hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a varied role working on heavy industrial machinery. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys getting stuck into breakdowns, replacing components, fault finding and carrying out practical repairs rather than spending their days purely completing PPMs. With a 4 on 4 off days-only shift, strong basic salary and plenty of overtime available for those who want it, this is a great opportunity to join a site where your mechanical knowledge will genuinely be valued. 

Our client operates a busy industrial site with a wide range of heavy machinery including shredders, gear motors, bearings, sprockets, hydraulics and lifting equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with strong practical engineering experience who can work independently, diagnose faults and complete repairs without needing extensive retraining. Overtime is readily available, particularly around planned downtime and weekend maintenance.  

Your Role as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will include:
* Mechanical breakdowns and fault finding
* Carrying out basic welding repairs
* Planned maintenance and machinery inspections
* Supporting shutdown and overtime work

The successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will have:
* Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience
* Heavy industrial or machinery background
* Experience with gearboxes, bearings and hydraulics
* Basic welding capability
