Job Title: Maintenance Team Leader (Mechanical)
Location: Ellesmere Port, (Stanlow / AOT)
Salary: £55,000-£60,000 plus generous overtime opportunities
Permanent: Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm, plus 2 shutdowns a year
Site Based
Direct reports: 7-10 employees
We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Team Leader to lead a team responsible for preventative and planned mechanical maintenance, ensuring operational priorities are met while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You must be able to hit the ground running and come with experience in prioritising heavy workloads, leading a team, and dealing with contractors, specifically within Mechanical Maintenance in the Oil, Gas, or Chemical industry.
Benefits:
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 DOE
Overtime: Monday-Friday - above 37.5 hours (1.5 x normal time), Sat/Sun (double time)
How much OT can be expected: Two shutdowns per year (70hrs per shutdown) plus 15 to 20 hrs per month on average
Holidays: 33 days per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
Pension Detail: 8% company contribution. Minimum 5% employee contribution
Bonus Scheme: 10% Discretionary Bonus
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and execute planned, corrective, and preventative maintenance schedules. Monitor and update the CMS system, ensuring accurate records of completed tasks. Manage maintenance-related inventory, including tools, spare parts, and consumables. Lead, mentor, and develop the team, including training and performance management. Promote and drive a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to SHE (Safety, Health &Environment)practices. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings. Effectively manage contractors, ensuring work is conducted safely and to company standards. Participate in the maintenance call-out rota as required. You'll need:
Trade-based mechanical apprenticeship. Experience in mechanical maintenance within the Oil, Gas, or Chemical industry. Knowledge of maintenance engineering standards. Experience using CMS systems. Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Budget awareness and ability to develop others. HNC Mech Eng (desirable). Relevant safety qualification e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH Experience with critical spares management Experience Leading Teams of Contractors
