Location: Bromborough

About the Role

S&D Trade Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Plumbing Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of mechanical and plumbing projects from inception through to completion for our valued client.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and commercial management skills, with the ability to coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors, and clients effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management
• Manage plumbing and mechanical projects from contract award through to final handover.
• Develop and maintain project programmes and schedules.
• Ensure all projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
• Conduct regular site visits and project review meetings.

Commercial Management
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and labour allocations.
• Identify and manage variations, ensuring all additional works are recorded and valued.
• Work closely with the commercial team to maximise project profitability.
• Forecast labour requirements and project cash flow.
• Review purchase orders, supplier costs, and subcontractor accounts.

Client & Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Resource Management
• Coordinate engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure labour resources are planned effectively across projects.
• Monitor workforce productivity and performance.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of site personnel when required.

Health & Safety
• Ensure compliance with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Review RAMS, permits, and site documentation.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all projects.
• Conduct site inspections and address any safety concerns immediately.

Quality Assurance
• Ensure installations comply with drawings, specifications, regulations, and client requirements.
• Manage commissioning, testing, and handover processes.
• Ensure all project documentation and O&M manuals are completed and submitted.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship throughout all projects.

Essential Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing plumbing or mechanical projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial and residential plumbing systems.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications
• NVQ Level 3 Plumbing & Heating or equivalent.
• SMSTS Certificate.
• CSCS Manager Card.
• First Aid at Work.
• HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or Construction Management.
• Experience using project management software.

• Gross profit targets achieved.
• Variation recovery percentage.
• Client satisfaction scores.
• Health & Safety compliance.
• Quality and snag-free handovers.
