Invision Recruitment are currently working with an established specialist contractor delivering a programme of fast-track retail refurbishment and rollout projects across London and the surrounding areas.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to take responsibility for the mechanical delivery of multiple refurbishment projects, typically ranging in value from £100,000 to £500,000.

The role would suit someone with a strong background in mechanical building services, retail fit out, supermarket refurbishment or fast-track M&E projects, who is comfortable managing multiple schemes concurrently within live and operational environments.

Typical Scope of Works

* HVAC installations and alterations

* Ventilation systems

* Heating and cooling systems

* Plumbing installations

* Refrigeration interfaces

* Plant replacement and upgrades

* Mechanical controls and BMS interfaces

* Mechanical elements within live retail refurbishment programmes

Key Responsibilities

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through to completion, including:

* Managing multiple fast-track mechanical projects concurrently

* Reviewing drawings, specifications and mechanical design information

* Producing and managing short-term programmes and project schedules

* Coordinating mechanical subcontractors and specialist suppliers

* Managing labour, materials and plant requirements

* Attending client progress and coordination meetings

* Liaising with main contractors, consultants and client representatives

* Managing mechanical design queries and technical issues

* Coordinating mechanical works with electrical, refrigeration and general fit-out packages

* Reviewing RAMS and ensuring Health & Safety compliance

* Managing site progress, quality and programme

* Monitoring project costs alongside the commercial team

* Managing variations and additional works

* Obtaining subcontractor and supplier quotations

* Supporting valuations and cost reporting

* Overseeing testing, commissioning and snagging

* Ensuring O&M information and handover documentation is completed

* Managing projects through to practical completion and final handover

The successful candidate will ideally have:

* Previous experience working as a Mechanical Project Manager, M&E Project Manager or Mechanical Contracts Manager

* Strong mechanical building services knowledge

* Experience within retail fit out, supermarket refurbishment or fast-track commercial projects

* Experience working within live or operational environments
