Excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a unique engineering organisation during an exciting period of investment and transformation, taking on a key role in the development and maintenance of world-class aerodynamic testing facilities.
On offer is an autonomous position where you will play an instrumental role in maintaining, upgrading and developing complex mechanical systems, leading engineering projects from concept through to commissioning while ensuring reliability, safety and long-term performance across critical plant and infrastructure.
This company operates one of the only facilities of its kind in the world, specialising in advanced aerodynamic testing, model design and manufacture for globally recognised aerospace and defence organisations. They are now looking for a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their Systems Engineering Team and support the continued evolution of their highly specialised engineering facilities.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include maintaining and improving legacy plant and machinery, designing and implementing new mechanical systems, leading refurbishment and upgrade projects, reviewing operational data, managing suppliers, supporting commissioning activities and driving continuous improvement across a wide range of industrial equipment and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will hold a Mechanical Engineering degree, have several years' experience working with industrial plant or process equipment, and be confident leading engineering projects through the full design lifecycle. Experience with control systems, electronics or engineering software would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates must hold a British Passport and be able to pass Security Clearance.
