I am currently representing a public sector organisation who are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the team on a long-term contract. This awarding winning local authority serves Scotland's second largest mainland council area, and 23 islands.
Main Responsibilities
Deliver and manage mechanical maintenance and asset sustainability projects. Act as Contract Administrator for allocated projects and maintenance programmes. Oversee contractors, compliance activities, and statutory inspections. Support mechanical compliance activities including: Water hygiene and Legionella control Gas safety Pool plant maintenance Undertake site surveys, condition surveys, audits, and asset management activities. Manage project budgets and monitor expenditure. Provide technical advice to clients and support emergency situations. Participate in an out-of-hours emergency rota. Essential Requirements
HNC/HND in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. Experience delivering mechanical projects and maintenance contracts. Contract administration experience. Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, including CDM Regulations and asbestos regulations. Significant knowledge of water hygiene/Legionella control. Experience using Microsoft Office. Desirable Requirements
NEBOSH qualification. Relevant mechanical trade qualification or professional membership (e.g. CIBSE). Experience within a large public-sector property portfolio, preferably local government. Experience using property asset management systems This is a hybrid working position with attendance on site and office when required.
