Mechanical Technician

Our client is a well-established operator within the energy infrastructure sector, responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and development of critical storage and transportation assets across the UK.

Due to continued investment and growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Technician to support maintenance, inspection, fault finding, and repair activities across operational sites. Role Purpose

To maintain the integrity and reliability of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with company procedures and relevant industry regulations. The successful candidate will support planned maintenance activities, inspections, breakdown response, and operational improvements across a range of industrial assets.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment and systems.

* Perform inspections, testing, adjustments, and repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation of plant assets.

* Support fault finding and troubleshooting activities on operational equipment.

* Participate in emergency breakdown response and maintenance call-out activities.

* Produce and implement mechanical isolations in line with company procedures.

* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at maximising asset reliability and operational performance.

* Support engineering and capital projects throughout planning, execution, and commissioning phases.

* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

Requirements

* Previous experience maintaining and fault finding on industrial mechanical equipment.

* Recognised mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or equivalent).

* Strong understanding of maintenance best practices and safe systems of work.

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.

* Full UK driving licence.
