Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join a busy laboratory in Bath. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with laboratory, healthcare, pathology, or medical testing experience to support essential diagnostic services and contribute to delivering high-quality patient care.

Working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Pathology Assistant, Biomedical Support Assistant, or Laboratory Support Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring patient specimens are processed accurately while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and laboratory practice.

Key Duties

Process, receive, and handle patient specimens accurately and efficiently.
Perform basic laboratory testing and record results accurately.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with procedures.
Complete accurate data entry and maintain laboratory records.
Follow laboratory quality standards, health and safety procedures, and infection control protocols.
Monitor and manage laboratory stock levels and supplies.
Work closely with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to support daily operations.

Requirements

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
Knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Flexible approach to working hours.

What We Offer
