Medical Writer – Medical Communications

Position: Medical Writer
Location: London (hybrid)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30k-£45k (dependent on experience)
Start: ASAP

Senior Medical Writer -

This is an excellent opportunity to join a flourishing Editorial team! As a member of the scientific team, you will have the chance to shape your role to fit your strengths and be instrumental in the ongoing development and growth of the division.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects across the full spectrum of medical communications activities, including congress activities, training materials, websites, and digital apps.

Role & Responsibilities:

Have an extensive scientific understanding and knowledge of the key therapy areas in which you support, including landscape, product, competitors, and the suitable messaging to use in the disease area
Serve as the medical writing representative on assigned project teams, providing proactive support to project leadership for planning efficient work plans and timelines for medical writing deliverables
Be able to translate the science with integrity, empathy, and impact
Play a role in contributing to the development of product strategy, scientific messaging and statements
Responsible for content developed by themselves and other writers on the team
Ensure communication and educational messages are relevant, actionable and demonstrate a positive impact on patient outcomes
Lead assigned projects/groups of projects to ensure delivery to deadline and budget
Ensure document content and style adheres to appropriate regulatory guidelines and complies with house or client SOPs and style guidelines
Coaches others in developing content for a diverse range of medical communications projects
Recognises the importance of motivation and guidance, empowering colleagues to deliver and encouraging individual ownership
Assist the client services team by proactively discussing any changes in project

specification/deadline

that impact project budgets and financial forecasts

Requirements:

Degree (science, preferably life science); PhD or MSc (desirable)
Scientific knowledge and understanding
Proficiency in delivering high-quality written work
Presentation skills
High level of drive, motivation, and initiative
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Awareness of industry guidelines and best practice and their application
Experience working in Medical Communications (agency)
