Our client, specialist hospital, is looking for a highly organised Mental Health Administrator to join their dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to play a role in a setting that supports adults with brain injuries and complex neurological conditions, making a genuine difference every day.

As a Mental Health Administrator, you will work closely with the Registered Manager, nursing teams, and clinical professionals to provide smooth, efficient, and compliant administrative support. From managing sensitive mental health documentation to liaising with internal teams and external agencies, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in their attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

What You’ll Bring

  • Healthcare Experience:

    Experience working in a healthcare setting, ideally with exposure to mental health or neurological services.

  • Legislative Knowledge:

    Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act, with a solid grasp of related legislation (MCA and DoLS).

  • Record Management:

    Familiarity with medical records and confidentiality procedures.

  • Communication Skills:

    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with a wide range of people.

  • Organised Approach:

    A proactive, calm, and methodical approach to your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support:

    Provide efficient administrative support for mental health legislation and safeguarding processes.

  • Records Management:

    Maintain accurate and compliant medical records.

  • Coordination:

    Coordinate documentation and communications with internal teams and external professionals.

  • Legal Hearings:

    Organise and manage hearings, tribunals, and ensure all required reports are submitted on time.

  • Compliance Tracking:

    Monitor and prompt reviews for Section 17 leave and Section 132 rights.

  • Audit Support:

    Support audits and ensure all MHA, MCA, and DoLS paperwork is accurate and complete.

  • Clerical Guidance:

    Serve as a helpful point of contact for staff and external agencies on clerical matters.

  • Professional Enquiries:

    Handle enquiries with professionalism and ensure timely completion of tasks.
