£95-£105 per day | ASAP Start | Full-Time | Long-Term
Are you passionate about supporting children with their emotional wellbeing? This could be a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant looking to gain valuable experience within a specialist school setting.
A welcoming primary school in Basingstoke is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
The Role
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will support pupils who may experience Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma-related behaviours and SEMH needs.
Your role will include:
Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing. Helping pupils develop confidence and independence. Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning. Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Working alongside teachers, SEN staff and other professionals. Supporting therapeutic and trauma-informed strategies.
About You
The ideal Mental Health Assistant will have:
A caring, patient and empathetic approach. A genuine passion for supporting children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. An interest in psychology, counselling, therapy, education or social care. A relevant degree is desirable but not essential.
