A Secondary SEN School in Newbury is seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors, Therapists, Mental Health Professionals, Youth Workers, or Teachers.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students experiencing a range of emotional and mental health needs. Build positive, trusting relationships with students and provide consistent emotional and pastoral support. Help students develop confidence, resilience, self-esteem, self-regulation, and independence. Support students in managing difficult emotions, anxiety, stress, and challenging behaviours using appropriate strategies. Encourage positive coping mechanisms and help students develop healthy ways of managing their emotions.We're looking for a Mental Health Support Worker who is:
Compassionate, patient, resilient, and enthusiastic about supporting young people. Confident communicating with students who may experience emotional or mental health difficulties. Calm, consistent, and supportive when responding to challenging situations. Passionate about supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.
