Job Description - Mental Health Support Worker

Bath, BA2 | On-site
£14.25 per hour
Full-time | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm | Term-time only
Start date: ASAP or September (long-term opportunities available)

Do you want to support young people with their mental health and wellbeing in a school setting?

We’re recruiting for a Pastoral Support Worker to join a secondary school in Bath, working closely with students who need additional emotional and behavioural support.

This is a highly rewarding role focused on building trust, supporting wellbeing, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

About the role
You’ll work with students who may be experiencing anxiety, low confidence, or challenges outside the classroom, helping them stay engaged and supported throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one pastoral and emotional support
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students
• Support students in managing emotions and behaviour
• Work alongside teachers and safeguarding teams
• Help create a safe, positive school environment

What success looks like
You’ll become a trusted adult for students who need support, helping them feel more confident, stable, and able to succeed in school.
