We are currently seeking an experienced MEP Commissioning Manager to join a major £75 million student accommodation development in Brentford. This is an excellent opportunity for a commissioning professional who can hit the ground running and take ownership of the final commissioning stages of a high-profile project.
An immediate start is available, with the ideal candidate able to commence next week. The contract is expected to run for 2–3 months, with the potential for further opportunities based on project requirements and performance.
The Role
As the MEP Commissioning Manager, you will play a key role in driving the commissioning programme through to successful completion. Working closely with the project delivery team, subcontractors, consultants, and the client, you will ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
This position is heavily focused on the final commissioning and handover stages, with particular emphasis on completing Cause & Effect testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate all MEP commissioning activities on site.
* Drive the completion of Cause & Effect testing across all building systems.
* Lead and oversee Integrated Systems Testing (IST) to ensure all systems operate correctly and as intended.
* Liaise with the main contractor, client representatives, consultants, and specialist subcontractors.
* Monitor commissioning progress against programme and proactively resolve any issues that could impact completion.
* Ensure all commissioning documentation is completed accurately and handed over in line with project requirements.
* Attend commissioning meetings and provide regular progress updates.
* Support the project team in achieving a smooth and successful practical completion.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience working as an MEP Commissioning Manager on large-scale construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services commissioning.
* Demonstrable experience delivering Cause & Effect and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive programme deadlines.
* Experience on residential, student accommodation, commercial, or mixed-use developments is highly desirable.
* CSCS card (appropriate level) and relevant commissioning qualifications or experience preferred.
