This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the UK's most respected Building Services contractors, delivering technically challenging projects across Critical Infrastructure, Commercial and Mission Critical environments.

THE ROLE

As Pre-Construction Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping projects before they reach site, working alongside clients, consultants and internal delivery teams to develop practical engineering solutions and successful delivery strategies.

You'll become involved from the earliest project stages, ensuring schemes are technically robust, commercially viable and fully coordinated before construction begins.

Our client delivers complex Mechanical & Electrical installations but also undertakes complete construction packages, including the building envelope and bespoke off-site manufactured solutions. This role therefore requires someone who has a strong Building Services background but also enjoys coordinating the wider construction process and working collaboratively with all project disciplines.

This is a highly visible position offering genuine influence across multiple high-value projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the pre-construction process from initial enquiry through to project mobilisation.
• Work closely with clients to understand project objectives and technical requirements.
• Coordinate Design, Commercial and Operational teams throughout tender and negotiation stages.
• Review specifications, drawings and technical submissions.
• Develop construction methodologies and delivery strategies.
• Drive value engineering opportunities and identify buildability improvements.
• Support procurement strategy and specialist subcontractor engagement.
• Assist with project programming, sequencing and mobilisation.
• Identify technical, commercial and programme risks before construction begins.
• Attend client meetings, technical workshops and design reviews.
• Ensure a seamless transition from pre-construction into live project delivery.

ABOUT YOU

We're keen to speak with individuals who have progressed from either a Mechanical or Electrical Building Services background and understand the successful delivery of complex MEP projects.

You may currently be working as a:

• Pre-Construction Manager
• Senior Project Manager
• Mechanical Project Manager
• Electrical Project Manager
• Contracts Manager
• Operations Manager
• Design Manager

Whilst contractor experience would be preferred, we're equally interested in speaking with candidates who have worked within consultancy and developed significant contractor interface throughout their career.

Most importantly, you'll understand Building Services and enjoy working collaboratively across Design, Commercial, Operations and Client teams to develop successful project solutions.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Mechanical or Electrical Building Services background.
• Strong technical understanding of MEP project delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness.
• Ability to review technical documentation and identify project risks.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach.
• Comfortable engaging with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Desire to influence projects from concept through to successful delivery.
