MET Technician

e are recruiting for an experienced MET Technician for a very successful independent – Independent Body Shop (Cars) based in the Southend on Sea, Essex area
Basic Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 per annum, dependent on experience and skills
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, plus alternate Saturday mornings

This is a great opportunity for an experienced MET technician looking to join an established independent business where quality workmanship, attention to detail and a professional approach are valued. As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for the mechanical, electrical and trim aspects of vehicle repair following accident damage.

You will work alongside the body repair team to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Duties include:

* Carrying out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs following accident damage

* Removing and refitting mechanical and electrical components

* Carrying out vehicle strip and refit work

* Identifying damaged components and reporting any additional work required

* Working closely with the body repair team to ensure repairs are completed efficiently

* Ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and in accordance with manufacturer and safety requirements

* Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

* Previous experience as an MET Technician within a body shop or accident repair environment

* Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge

* Excellent attention to detail and pride in their workmanship

* The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

* A professional and reliable approach

* Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills

* A valid driving licence

ATA qualification would be an advantage, although relevant experience and skills will also be considered.
