EMBS is working in partnership with a leading engineering manufacturer located in the Nottinghamshire area that is currently in the market for a Skilled MIG Welder with ideal experience in TIG and/or STICK to join their company on a permanent basis.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out high-quality MIG welding on a daily basis, with TIG and/or Stick welding skills also valued

  • Weld pipe-to-pipe and pipe-to-plate joints and occasionally weld plate-to-plate joints as required

  • Work with stainless steel and mild steel across a range of material thicknesses (2.5mm–6mm, with occasional jobs up to 10mm)

  • Carry out general fabrication duties including grinding, cutting, and bending components to specification

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and welding

  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe use of welding equipment, PPE, and workshop machinery

  • Check finished work for quality and accuracy before sign-off






Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in MIG welding, ideally with additional TIG and/or Stick welding ability

  • Confidence welding pipe-to-pipe and pipe-to-plate joints, with some exposure to plate-to-plate work

  • Experience working with stainless steel and mild steel

  • Ability to work accurately with material thicknesses ranging from 2.5mm to 6mm, and confidence handling thicker material up to 10mm when required

  • Competence in general fabrication tasks, including grinding, cutting, and bending

  • A good eye for detail and pride in producing clean, high-quality welds

  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications
