MIS & Funding Manager Location: On-site at your choice of Hull, Grimsby or Scunthorpe, with some travel between centres Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:15, Friday 08:00–16:00 ________________________________________ About the Organisation This well-established and Ofsted-rated “Good” training provider has over 60 years of experience delivering high-quality engineering training. With centres located across multiple sites, they specialise in Level 3 & 4 engineering apprenticeships, higher education programmes, and upskilling courses. The organisation works in partnership with over 300 employers, including many leading names in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. ________________________________________ Salary & Benefits Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum Benefits include: • 42 days annual leave (including bank holidays) • Employer pension contributions up to 7% • Private healthcare • Life insurance • Annual performance-based bonus • Branded workwear • Continuous professional development opportunities • Employee wellness programme, including health checks • Cycle-to-work scheme • Length-of-service awards • Support for reservists ________________________________________ The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented MIS & Funding Specialist to lead and oversee Management Information Systems and maximise funding accuracy and compliance across the organisation’s training provision.
In this stand alone role, You’ll be responsible for maintaining data quality, managing funding submissions, and ensuring audit readiness. A strong knowledge of apprenticeship and 16–19 funding is essential, along with the ability to support internal teams and drive efficiencies. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Management Information Systems (MIS): • Lead and manage the MIS function, including data entry, validation, reporting, and maintenance. • Ensure learner records are accurate, compliant, and audit-ready. • Manage ILR (Individualised Learner Record) submissions in line with DfE guidelines. • Develop internal reporting tools to support performance and decision-making. • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate learner data capture.
Funding & Compliance: • Monitor and manage funding streams (DfE, Skills England, etc.) to ensure full compliance and revenue maximisation. • Conduct internal audits and prepare for external inspections, including Ofsted. • Stay informed of funding rules and communicate key updates to relevant stakeholders. • Produce accurate funding forecasts, reconcile payments, and report variances. • Identify and implement improvements in data quality and compliance processes.
Team & Stakeholder Engagement: • Work cross-functionally with curriculum leads, quality managers, and finance teams. • Serve as a key point of contact for funding agencies and auditors. ________________________________________
Experience and Skills Required • Proven track record of leading MIS and funding submissions • Comprehensive understanding of current funding rules and audit partners (Skills England, Ofsted, etc.) • Strong background in work-based learning or further education apprenticeships • Advanced experience using MI systems and reporting tools (e.g. PICS and One-File) • Skilled in using and analysing PDSAT and FRM reports • Strong knowledge of GDPR and data protection compliance • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills ________________________________________ Location and Travel This role is based on-site at one of the organisation’s centres, with occasional travel required between sites.
