Job Purpose
To develop, build, maintain, test, and customize data acquisition, measurement, and monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development and Maintenance:
Maintain and develop the data acquisition and management software to ensure timely and accurate ongoing development.
System Assembly:
Assemble new systems and equipment for stock from components, working to drawings and adhering to strict quality standards.
Equipment Testing and Calibration:
Test, calibrate, and maintain monitoring equipment to enable the Project Engineer to keep timely and accurate records.
Project Contribution:
Contribute to development projects with the team to produce innovative schemes and identify new business areas.
Safety and Environmental Compliance:
Work in accordance with company SHEQ policies to ensure schemes are safely designed with a focus on environmental performance.
Customer Service:
Provide and maintain high levels of customer service to exceed customer expectations.
Support for Installations:
Provide additional support for installations during busy periods and holiday cover.
Communications and Working Relationships
On-site Coordination:
Work with people on sites, keeping records of results, changes, and activities performed.
Team Updates:
Keep engineering teams informed of projects and updates.
Customer Relationships:
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and seek feedback on customer satisfaction.
Key Result Areas
Document Control:
Quality of in-house document control and feedback from management.
System Reproduction:
Accurate reproduction of in-house build systems and development, with feedback from management.
Testing and Calibration:
Feedback from the Project Services Team on testing, calibrations, and maintenance.
Data Accuracy:
Ensure accuracy of data via LIVEsite from working schemes, with feedback from the Project Engineer.
Technical Skills:
Understanding installation drawings, good wiring skills, and fault-finding skills.
Standard Improvement:
Improve standards and equipment to minimize downtime and recurring issues.
Scope of Impact
Scheme Design and Installation:
Design and install monitoring schemes for low-risk areas such as noise/dust monitoring, vibration monitoring, and environmental monitoring systems.
Quality and Environmental Management:
Ensure designs comply with ISO 9001 quality management principles and ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
Summary of Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:
Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunications/IT experience.
Experience:
Layout and wire control panels or systems experience, panel wiring, and cabling experience.
Industry Experience:
Telecommunications or construction industry.
Specific Skills:
Ability to work from wiring drawings.
Other Attributes:
UK Driving Licence.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:
Electrical/Electronic NVQ Level 3, Telecommunications/IT.
Additional Certifications:
17th Edition/Wiring and Inspection Qualified.
Programming Skills:
Basic programming skills (use of LabVIEW/C++ & Python).
Industry Experience:
Construction industry.
