Job Title: Lifetime Mortgage Underwriter

Location: London Hybrid 2 days in the office, 3 WFH

Salary: Up to £45,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5.30 pm

Responsibilities for the role of Lifetime Mortgage Underwriter:

• Review lifetime mortgage applications against lending policy to make accurate underwriting decisions
• Manage a portfolio of cases from application to completion
• Assess loan documentation, including valuations and credit reports, and request additional information as needed
• Present cases outside mandate to senior underwriters for approval
• Communicate lending decisions clearly and timely to internal teams and brokers
• Collaborate closely with case managers and brokers to ensure efficient case progression
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and conduct rules
• Support the completion team by responding promptly to solicitors' queries

Experience and skills required for the role of Lifetime Mortgage Underwriter:

• Proven experience underwriting lifetime mortgage applications
• Ability to present and escalate cases outside of mandate for senior approval
• Effective communication skills for liaising with brokers, internal teams, and other stakeholders
• Track record of ensuring timely and compliant lending decisions
• Experience supporting completion processes and addressing solicitors' queries promptly
