MOT Tester

Meridian Business Support are looking to recruit 2 qualified M.O.T Testers for a client of ours based in Grimsby on a permanent basis, working a 4 day week 12 hours a day.

An MOT Tester is responsible for inspecting vehicles to ensure they meet the legal safety and environmental standards set by the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency). The role is critical in maintaining road safety and compliance with UK regulations.

⏰ Shift Pattern: Monday–Thursday, 6:00pm – 6:00am (4-day working week) 

About the Role :
We are currently recruiting for a qualified **MOT Tester** to join our team on a permanent night shift basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking for a consistent 4-day working week with a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities :
- Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations 
- Accurately complete all MOT documentation using the DVSA MOT Testing Service (MTS) 
- Identify and report vehicle defects and safety issues 
- Ensure all work meets required safety and compliance standards 
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment 
- Work efficiently within a professional testing environment

Requirements :
- **Valid and current MOT Tester licence (essential)** 
- Strong knowledge of DVSA testing standards and procedures 
- Experience working in a busy workshop environment 
- Full UK Driving Licence 
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
- High attention to detail and commitment to vehicle safety 

⚠️ *Please note: A valid MOT Tester licence is essential. Mechanical experience alone without this qualification will not be considered.* 

Working Hours & Benefits :
- 4-day working week (Monday–Thursday) 
- 6:00pm – 6:00am night shifts 
- £45,000 annual salary 
- Permanent, full-time position 
- Bank holidays included where they fall within the shift pattern 

Tools & Systems :
You’ll be working within a standard MOT testing environment and should be confident using: 
- DVSA MOT Testing Service (MTS) 
- Workshop equipment (vehicle ramps, brake testers, emission testers, etc.) 
- Standard inspection tools used in MOT testing 

Start Date :
We are looking to hire as soon as possible, so candidates available immediately or on short notice are highly desirable.
