MOT Tester / Technician

Salary: £37,000 – £42,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable MOT Tester / Technician to join a busy and professional automotive team based in Cambridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical knowledge who takes pride in maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and workmanship. You will be responsible for carrying out MOT testing, vehicle inspections and general mechanical work, helping ensure vehicles are safe, roadworthy and compliant with current regulations.

The role would suit an experienced MOT Tester/Technician, although applications from candidates with a strong mechanical background who are looking to develop their MOT testing skills will also be considered.

The Role

Your main responsibilities will include:

Carrying out MOT tests on a range of vehicles in line with current DVSA standards

Conducting thorough vehicle inspections and identifying mechanical or safety-related defects

*

Advising on repairs and maintenance required to keep vehicles roadworthy

*

Carrying out general servicing, repairs, adjustments and component replacements

*

Using a range of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

*

Assisting with vehicle diagnostics and fault finding

*

Accurately recording MOT results, inspections, repairs and maintenance work

*

Ensuring all testing and repair work is completed to a high standard

*

Following all health and safety procedures within the workshop

*

Handling and moving vehicle components safely when required

*

Working closely with other members of the workshop team

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically minded, reliable and has a genuine interest in vehicle maintenance and safety.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience as an MOT Tester, Vehicle Technician or Motor Mechanic

*

Strong general mechanical knowledge
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
