Motor Fleet Underwriter

Your new companyYour new company is one of the largest specialist motor insurers, part of a larger group that works solely with motor insurance brokers to provide their clients with the most tailored insurance solutions. Due to expansion, a permanent position for an Underwriter has arisen.
Your new roleYour new role as an Underwriter means your primary responsibility will be to underwrite a variety of moderate to complex risks as well as acting as a point of contact for more junior team members. This is a market-facing role, requiring regular interaction with broker partners to build and maintain strong trading relationships. Duties will include handling quotes, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and cancellations, assisting in monitoring portfolio performance through data analysis, supporting leadership in team development and collaborating with operational and technical teams to identify training needs. Further duties will also include striving for accuracy and efficiency in all tasks, taking initiative in personal development, promoting professional conduct, collaboration, and positive engagement, as well as meeting individual performance goals.
What you'll need to succeedYour previous experience working as an Underwriter will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will show technical expertise and commercial judgement, understand pricing methodologies and actively contribute to the refinement of pricing models through feedback and insight. You must be able to build and sustain effective relationships with broker partners. You will have strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, high level of communication and numerical ability, effective decision-making skills and organisation, innovative thinking and problem-solving, and be a team player.
What you'll get in returnYou will receive a completive salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience plus excellent pension and benefits. You will receive support from directors.
