Job Description - Motor Trade Account Executive

A forward-thinking, independent insurance brokerage is continuing its impressive growth and is now looking to appoint an experienced Motor Trade Account Executive. With a modern, people-first culture, this is a business that prides itself on doing things differently - offering expert advice across commercial and private client markets, while empowering its team to work flexibly and autonomously.

This opportunity will see you inherit and manage an established book of Motor Trade clients, with scope to grow the portfolio further. You’ll be supported by a dedicated team and given the tools and trust needed to thrive.

The Motor Trade Account Executive Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a well-established book of Motor Trade business (approx. £200k GWP), consisting of independent motor dealers, garages, and recovery businesses.
  • Take ownership of client relationships, ensuring high levels of service and retention.
  • Drive growth through the development of existing accounts and acquisition of new clients.
  • Benefit from internal lead generation and warm introductions, alongside your own development activity.
  • Receive full day-to-day support from a team of experienced Account Handlers, allowing you to focus on relationship building and business development.
  • Working primarily from home, with occasional travel to the Stockport office.

Our Ideal Motor Trade Account Executive:

  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in Motor Trade insurance.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing a commercial book.
  • Strong technical knowledge of motor trade and the associated risks.
  • Confident in a client-facing role, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Motivated, commercially minded, and capable of working independently.
