Location: London Position: Senior Building Surveyor Sector: Property & Construction Consultancy
I'm working with an established and growing property consultancy in London that is looking to appoint an MRICS Senior Building Surveyor to join its Building Surveying team.
This is a great opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor who enjoys being hands-on with projects, working directly with clients and having plenty of variety in their workload.
The business has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality advice while maintaining a collaborative and personable working environment. They are continuing to grow and are keen to bring in someone who wants to develop their career alongside the business.
The Role
As Senior Building Surveyor, you'll manage your own instructions and work closely with clients across a varied portfolio of commercial properties. Your responsibilities could include:
Contract administration Dilapidations Building surveys and technical due diligence Planned preventative maintenance Reinstatement cost assessments Defect diagnosis and building pathology Refurbishment and improvement projects Preparing specifications and schedules of works Licence to Alter advice Client and stakeholder management Supporting more junior members of the team where required The position offers a good balance between professional Building Surveying and project-led work, giving you the opportunity to maintain a broad skill set rather than becoming too specialised.
About You
To be considered, you should:
Be MRICS qualified Have strong experience within Building Surveying Ideally come from a consultancy or property background Be comfortable managing projects and instructions independently Have strong technical and commercial knowledge Be confident working directly with clients Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Be ambitious and keen to continue progressing professionally
The Opportunity
You'll be joining a business where experienced surveyors are trusted to manage their own work and develop strong client relationships, while still having the support of an established wider team.
There is genuine scope to progress beyond Senior Surveyor as the business continues to grow, making this a particularly good opportunity for someone looking for a long-term career move rather than simply their next role. You'll also gain exposure to an interesting range of properties, clients and instructions, with the opportunity to broaden both your technical and commercial experience.
