A leading independent property and construction consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The business has an impressive portfolio of commercial and super prime residential projects, working with private clients, developers and investors on some of the capital’s most prestigious schemes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute, MRICS-qualified Quantity Surveyor looking to take a senior position within a growing, high-quality consultancy environment, with responsibility for supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
The Role
You will be responsible for the commercial and cost management of projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with clients, contractors, consultants and project teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Leading cost and commercial management across high-value projects
* Preparing cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts
* Managing procurement and tender processes
* Contract administration and commercial reporting
* Valuations, variations, payments and final accounts
* Identifying and managing commercial risks
* Providing strategic commercial advice to clients
* Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
* Supporting, developing and mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors
* Providing guidance and technical support to junior team members, helping to develop their commercial and professional skills
* Taking an active role in the wider development of the Quantity Surveying team
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong consultancy background, together with experience delivering high-value construction projects.
You will have:
* Proven experience within a Quantity Surveying consultancy
* MRICS qualification – essential
* Experience across commercial and/or super prime residential projects
* Strong pre- and post-contract experience
* Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and cost management
* Strong client-facing and communication skills
* The ability to take ownership of projects and work autonomously
* A commercially driven and proactive approach
* Experience supporting, coaching or mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors
* A desire to contribute to the continued growth and development of the wider team
