Job Description:

Job Title: Medical Multi Drop B Licence Driver

Job Location: Polar Speed UPS, Unit 2 Belgrave Court, Caxton Road, Fullwood, Preston, PR2 9ZB

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week minimum contract

Hours: 7am - 7.30am start, 40 to 48 hours per week. Flexibility required to suit the needs of the business which may be of an urgent medical nature.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

Manage the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle.

Manage the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle.

Conduct daily diligence on vehicle safety checks and refrigeration unit.

Report any issues found on vehicle checks to line manager or team leaders prior to despatch.

Ensure vehicle is in temperature prior to loading.

Delivery and collection of pharmaceutical consignments to addresses including GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals, Wholesalers and Home Delivery Patients.

Physical checking/scanning of all consignments at delivery point.

Communication of all operational delays or delivery failures as soon as known to line manager or team leaders.

Correct completion of EPOD/Driver Manifest/Collection/Refusal Paperwork.

Managing the returns process of all consignments entering the local depot by scanning all consignments to the forwarding depots.

Maintain the cleanliness of company uniform and ensure safety shoes/boots and High Viz are worn at all times.

Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle.

Specialised Knowledge and Requirements:

Minimum 2 years driving experience, including motorway driving experience.

Minimum Category B Licence with ideally no more than 3 points.

Previous temperature controlled delivery experience desired but not essential.

Previous multi drop experience advantageous.

Excellent communication skills

Team player mentality with the ability to work on own initiative.

Must appreciate the need for maintaining confidentiality

Must be able to build effective working relationships with customers/clients and colleague.

Must be able to build effective working relationships with Manager/Team Leader and other departments.

Flexibility in working days/hours, to suit the needs of the business, which may be of an urgent medical nature.

For successful candidates Polar Speed will run an enhanced DSB check, and also a minimum of 3 years referencing checks including any gaps in employment.
