Job Description:

Job Title: Medical Multi Drop Van Driver

Job Location: Polar Speed UPS, 7 Chartmoor Road, Site 2, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4WG

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday - 40 -48 hours per week, 7am start, or 6am if delivering in London.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

Manage the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle.

Manage the safe and secure loading of all consignments.

Conduct daily diligence on vehicle safety checks and refrigeration units.

Report any issues found on vehicle checks to the line manager or team leader prior to despatch.

Ensure vehicle is in temperature prior to loading.

Delivery and collection of Pharmaceutical consignments to addresses including GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals, Wholesalers, and Home Delivery Patients.

Physical checking and scanning of all consignments at delivery point.

Communication of all operational delays or delivery failures as soon as know, to the manager or team leaders.

Correct completion of EPOD/Driver Manifest/Collection/Refusal Paperwork.

Managing the returns process of all consignments.

Maintain the cleanliness of company vehicle.

Maintain cleanliness of company uniform, ensuring safety boots/shoes and High Viz are worn at all times.

Communicating any patient concerns to the Customer Services and PV teams.

Specialised Knowledge and Requirements:

Minimum 2 years driving experience, including Motorway driving experience.

Minimum Category B Drivers Licence with ideally no more than 3 points.

Previous temperature controlled delivery experience is desired but not essential.

Previous multi drop experience is advantageous.

Must appreciate the need for maintaining confidentiality.

Team player mentality with ability to work on own initiative.

Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients.

Must be able to build effective working relationships with Managers, Team Leaders, and other departments such as Pharmacy Customer Services.

Flexibility in working days and hours is required at times, to suit the needs of the business, which may be of an urgent medical nature.

For successful candidates, Polar Speed will run an enhanced DBS check, and a 3 year referencing check, including any gaps of employment.
