Junior Multi-Skilled Engineer

📍 Location: Barnsley
💰 Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
🕒 Shift Pattern: 07:00 - 15:00 switching to 06:00 - 14:00 & 14:00 - 22:00

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a well-established heavy industrial manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior or apprentice-trained engineer looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced production environment.

You will work alongside experienced maintenance engineers supporting both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of industrial machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

*

Support breakdown repairs and fault finding activities

*

Carry out basic mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks

*

Work on conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics

*

Ensure machinery downtime is minimised

*

Maintain health & safety standards across site

*

Complete maintenance documentation and reports

Candidate Requirements

*

NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

*

Basic understanding of manufacturing or industrial maintenance

*

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

*

Strong problem-solving skills

*

Ability to work well within a team environment

Desirable Experience

*

Previous manufacturing or industrial experience

*

Exposure to PLCs or automated equipment

*

Mechanical or electrical fault-finding knowledge
