Shift Multiskilled Engineer
We are looking to recruit an experienced SHIFT MULTISKILLED ENGINEER to support critical building services maintenance at a medical facility based in CHELSEA, LONDON.
Role: Shift Multiskilled Engineer Location: Chelsea, London, SW3 Pay Rate: £19.23 PAYE( £42k equivalent) Temp to perm Contract: 3 Month Contract (Temp to perm) Start Date: 21st September (ASAP) Contract Length: Until 13th December Shift Pattern: 12-Hour Shifts (4 On / 4 Off), Monday to Sunday. ON-CAL: Participation in regional out-of-hours standby rota.
The Role We are seeking a skilled and proactive Multiskilled Engineer to deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and breakdown support across a prestigious healthcare and research facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring building services systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. Working within a live environment, you will be responsible for fault diagnosis, repairs, compliance activities, contractor supervision, and maintaining high standards of health & safety, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all PPM is carried out in accordance with the maintenance specification and documented in real time using the PDA to log start/wait/stop completion and travel times with appropriate comments to evidence completion of work. Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator. Complete supplementary documentation/E-Forms relating to maintenance tasks as required by your line manager. Update the customer's CAFM system in real time with start/wait/stop completion times and provide full descriptions of works undertaken, advising of any follow-on works required. Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and proactively identify areas for improvement. Identify and record plant failures using quotation forms and update the CAFM system accordingly. Ensure plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order, in accordance with delegated authority or client approval requirements. Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance and reactive works, providing parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works. Undertake Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) prior to commencing work and record any safety concerns through the relevant reporting system. Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and followed for all tasks. Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, including the use of uniform and PPE at all times. Operate Permit to Work systems in accordance with company and client procedures. Undertake mandatory and skill-related training as required. Essential Requirements
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives. Work professionally to ensure service delivery requirements are consistently met. Present a professional image to clients at all times. Ensure all plant rooms are maintained in a clean and tidy condition. Supervise and monitor subcontractor activities while on site. Maintain awareness of and compliance with contractual KPIs and SLAs. Attend site in response to equipment breakdowns outside normal working hours as part of the on-call rota. Be flexible to work weekends and out-of-hours when required. Undertake regular audits of tools and test equipment to ensure safe operation and calibration compliance. Desirable Skills The successful candidate will have the ability to fault find, diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical maintenance faults and possess good working knowledge of:
Air Handling Units (AHUs) Pumps Water Treatment (L8) Building Management Systems (BMS) Electrical & Mechanical Systems Qualifications & Experience
Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation AM2 Assessment 18th Edition Qualification Recognised industry qualification required. Previous relevant experience essential. Full clean UK driving licence. Computer literate. Strong communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Able to work effectively as part of a team. Flexible and adaptable to change. To always maintain a clean and smart appearance Fluent in English both written and oral.
