Job Title: Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer (60/40 Split)
Location: Gloucester
Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Days (Monday to Friday)

Overview:

We are currently seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business based in Gloucester. This is a permanent days-based role, ideal for a skilled engineer looking to work in a modern, fast-paced production environment.

This position offers an attractive salary of up to £47,000, and the opportunity to be part of a strong engineering team within a business that values continuous improvement, reliability, and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production and packaging machinery.

Undertake mechanical maintenance tasks as needed (approx. 40% mechanical).

Ensure all engineering activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.

Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and optimise equipment efficiency.

Support continuous improvement projects and contribute to equipment upgrades and installations.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Requirements:

Time-served or qualified Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).

Strong electrical skills with a solid understanding of mechanical systems.

Experience working in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment is essential.

Competent with fault finding, diagnostics, and repair across a variety of electrical systems (PLCs, sensors, drives, motors, etc.).

Good understanding of health and safety standards within a food production setting.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
