Job Purpose

As a Multi Trader, you will carry out responsive repairs and maintenance works across Rugby Borough Council's housing stock, with a primary focus on plumbing repairs and secondary carpentry works. You will work independently within occupied properties, delivering high-quality repairs and resolving issues on the first visit wherever possible.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

• Carry out domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
  
  
  


• Diagnose and repair leaks.
  
  
  


• Repair and replace taps, toilets, basins, baths, and sanitary ware.
  
  
  


• Complete kitchen and bathroom plumbing repairs.
  
  
  


• Undertake waste pipe and drainage-related repairs.
  
  
  


• Carry out fault-finding and remedial plumbing works.
  
  
  


• Complete associated carpentry and joinery repairs where required.
  
  
  


• Deliver responsive repairs within occupied residential properties.
  
  
  


• Complete repairs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  
  
  


• Maintain accurate job records using IT systems and handheld devices.
  
  
  


• Communicate effectively with tenants and residents.
  
  
  


• Ensure properties are left clean and safe following repairs.
  
  
  


• Work independently and manage workloads efficiently.
  
  
  


• Participate in the out-of-hours standby rota if required.
  
  
  

Essential Experience Required

• Strong domestic plumbing experience.

• Bathroom plumbing repairs
  
  
  


• Kitchen plumbing repairs
  
  
  


• Leak detection and repairs
  
  
  


• Sanitary ware replacement and repairs
  
  
  


• Waste pipe repairs
  
  
  


• General plumbing fault finding
  
  
  




• Carpentry experience as a secondary trade.
  
  
  


• Experience working within social housing, property maintenance, repairs, or facilities services.
  
  
  


• Experience working within occupied residential properties.
  
  
  


• Ability to complete multiple repairs without requiring additional trades.
  
  
  


• Good customer service and communication skills.
  
  
  


• Basic IT skills.
  
  
  

Essential Qualifications Required

• Full UK Driving Licence.
  
  
  


• Relevant trade experience in Plumbing and Multi-Trade Repairs.
  
  
  


• Right to Work in the UK.
  
  
  

Additional Information to Note

• Working hours: 37 hours per week.
  
  
  


• Monday to Friday.
  
  
  


• Working hours: 08:00 – 16:00.
  
  
  


• Location: Rugby Borough
  
  
  


• Council. Basic DBS check.
  
  
  


• Optional standby/on-call rota available.
  
  
  


• Additional standby payment of £200 per week when participating in the on-call service.
  
  
  


• Full UK Driving Licence essential.
