Job Title: Multi-Skilled Air Conditioning Engineer – Scotland

Role Overview

We are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Air Conditioning Engineer to support our operations across Scotland. This is a key, varied role responsible not only for maintaining and repairing air conditioning systems, but also supporting broader site requirements including climbing activities, general maintenance, and fabric repairs.

You will play a critical part in ensuring system reliability, maintaining compliance with FGAS regulations, and supporting overall site functionality and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a variety of air conditioning systems
  • Service and maintain split systems, VRV/VRF systems, and larger commercial units
  • Ensure full FGAS compliance, including correct handling and record-keeping of refrigerants
  • Diagnose faults efficiently and achieve first-time fixes where possible
  • Undertake working at height activities, including climbing, as required (full training and certification provided)
  • Carry out general site maintenance tasks, supporting overall asset condition and performance
  • Complete basic fabric repairs (e.g. minor building works, upkeep, and remedial tasks)
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards and company procedures
  • Provide clear and accurate job reporting and documentation
  • Support other engineering disciplines as required, contributing to a flexible, multi-skilled team environment

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer within a commercial or industrial environment
  • FGAS qualified (Category 1 essential)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
  • Experience working on large-scale systems (including units over 5 tonnes)
  • Comfortable working at height or willing to undertake training
  • Experience in general maintenance and/or fabric repairs desirable
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload across a wide geographical area

What We’re Looking For

  • A multi-skilled, adaptable engineer with a proactive approach
  • Strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance
  • Someone who takes ownership and pride in their work
  • Ability to balance specialist AC work with wider site responsibilities
  • Team player who can support and collaborate across functions

Why This Role Matters

This is a critical, multi-functional role that supports both our specialist compliance requirements and broader site operations across Scotland. By bringing this capability in-house, we reduce reliance on external contractors, improve responsiveness, and strengthen overall service delivery.

Join us at United Infrastructure and be part of our mission to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to the complex infrastructure needs of the UK.
