Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £42,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (40 hours/week, 30-minute paid break)

On-Call: One week in three

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our production site in Pencaitland. This is a critical position focused on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all plant equipment and systems. The role requires flexibility to support operations during busy periods such as harvest, planned shutdowns, and staff absence.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure production targets are met through timely maintenance and effective response to electrical faults and breakdowns. An on-call rota system is in place, and availability for out-of-hours support is essential.

Key Responsibilities for the maintenance engineer

• Perform electrical maintenance and repair work on plant equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently, including outside of standard hours.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety

Required Skills & Experience for the maintenance engineer

• Electrical testing, fault finding, and inspection
• Ability to fault find without wiring diagrams
• Experience in electrical installation and inspection
• Working knowledge of PLC systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude
