Maintenance Engineer - FMCG

Location - North Yorkshire

Salary - Up to £46k DOE

Shift pattern - Days shift, including weekends

Henderson Brown are delighted to be partnering with an FMCG manufacturer to support with their recruitment for a Multi-skilled Engineer. This site has seen significant investment over the years and you will be a large part of this exciting journey.

Based at a modern, purpose-built food manufacturing facility in Middlesbrough, you will join a small but experienced engineering team. This is a varied and hands-on role, working closely with production, hygiene, and technical departments to ensure the smooth running of the site.

Responsibilities

• Conduct planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of machinery, including flow wrappers
• Attend to breakdowns and carry out reactive maintenance as needed
• Maintain high site standards through routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing faults
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, quality, and hygiene standards
• Keep maintenance records and PPM logs up to date
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and see them through to resolution
• Support continuous improvement projects and suggest enhancements to existing equipment and processes
• Provide engineering support for installations, upgrades, and modifications of production lines

Requirements

• Hands on experience with both mechanical and electrical fault finding is essential
• Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, food or FMCG is preferred
• Experience working with flow wrap machinery is advantageous
• Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
• Knowledge of health & safety and food safety legislation is beneficial
• 17th or 18th Edition electrical qualifications desirable
