Are you a proactive and hands-on Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge? Do you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where no two days are the same?
We're looking for a skilled engineer to play a key role in keeping our Kirkham production facilities operating at peak performance. You'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving a wide range of manufacturing equipment, helping to minimise downtime and drive operational excellence.
Working closely with Production, Quality, and Health & Safety teams, you'll ensure equipment reliability while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance.
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern
Please note that flexibility is required during the initial training and probation period, which may involve working on either day or night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Build strong working relationships with Production Managers, Supervisors, and Line Leaders to support efficient operations.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a broad range of production and manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
Provide technical expertise and support to key stakeholders across the business.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
Support Engineering and Production teams in achieving key operational targets and KPIs.
Monitor equipment and production line performance, identifying potential issues before they impact production.
Respond rapidly to performance deterioration, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers on new installations, upgrades, and machinery modifications.
Maintain accurate records and work orders within the CMMS maintenance management system.
Apply strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Trades Qualification – ONC or equivalent is desirable.
3+ years post qualification experience in food production or similar environment would be beneficial.
Practical experience of maintaining conveyors, packing machines (including flow wrappers, food processing equipment, robotics or similar machinery is desirable.
Understanding of modern maintenance roles
Basic computer skills are essential.
