MTrec are proudly representing our engineering client, based in Tyne and Wear, who are recruiting a multi skilled maintenance technician within their engineering department, the successful candidate will maintain plant and equipment, install new equipment and be part of a supportive team. To be considered you must have electrical and mechanical engineering experience.

If you have a background in the Armed Forces with relevant engineering and technical experience, please apply now for an immediate response. You may have served in the Royal Navy and repaired steam plant, boilers and associated equipment, or you have been in the RAF and worked on propulsion systems, or you may have served in the Army/REME and repaired and serviced a variety of electro-mechanical equipment. As mentioned, the company will provide you with excellent training to provide you with the necessary skills to help support your transition into industry. They just need the technical skills and background, with the desire and motivation to provide a great engineering service to their internal customer base.

The Job You’ll do;

• Work safely at all times observing instructions, procedures, permits, safety systems and lock offs etc.
• Attend calls out of hours if needed.
• To maintain plant and equipment both reactively (e.g. breakdowns), and proactively.
• To establish cause of failure in equipment and fault find.
• Work with single phase supplies.
• Working with hydraulics, actuators, and valves.
• To identify root causes wherever possible and to communicate with relevant personnel.
• Working with Mitsubishi and Siemens PLC controls.
• To work effectively with colleagues and subcontractors.
• To perform any other duties as required by the company.
• Work remotely.

About You;

• Must have electrical and mechanical engineering experience.
• You will have either previously worked in manufacturing or your will have served as an engineer or technician, in the armed forces. The company will consider any technical background from the Royal Navy, Royal Airforce or the Army/REME.
• Experience with Mitsubishi and Siemens PLC is ideal.
• Able to work well in a team environment.
• Possess strong communication skills.
• Hard working and willing to perform other duties when required.
• Experience with fault finding.
