Nanny - New Milton

Freedom Care has been providing clients with Childcare for 25 years. We offer a bespoke service that listens to the clients needs and tailors the service that is required. 

About the role

Freedom Care is looking for a warm, reliable and engaging nanny to support a family in the New Milton area. You will care for two children aged 8 and 9, helping them enjoy safe, settled and positive routines at home, at school and in the community.

One child is autistic and has low support needs. The right person will be patient, understanding and confident in creating a calm, predictable environment while encouraging independence, confidence and fun.

Mum works varying hospital shifts and receives her rota approximately eight weeks in advance. This provides good notice for planning, although the successful nanny will need to offer flexibility across the available shift patterns.

Working days - 3 - 5 per week

Hours/days will vary in line with Mum’s hospital rota and may include:

During Term Time:

• 7:00am – 9:00am


• 3:00pm – up to 9:00pm, depending on Mum's shift

During School Holidays:

• Full-day care


• From 7:00am – 3.45pm


• Finish times could be as late as 9:00pm, depending on Mum's shift

What you’ll be doing

• Providing safe, caring and engaging childcare for both children.


• Supporting morning, after-school and evening routines.


• Completing school drop-offs and collections when required.


• Preparing meals and snacks for the children.


• Planning age-appropriate activities, games, outings and school-holiday days out.


• Supporting homework and after-school activities where needed.


• Responding patiently and consistently to the younger child’s individual needs and routines.


• Helping the children prepare for school and organising what they need for the day.


• Completing light child-related household duties to help keep the family home organised.

Driving and transporting the children when required.

Most importantly, building a positive, trusting relationship and having fun together.

About you

We would love to hear from you if you are:

• Reliable, committed, caring and confident with school-aged children.


• Patient and understanding, with a calm and positive approach.


• Comfortable supporting an autistic child; relevant SEN experience is strongly welcomed.


• Able to work flexibly around a rota provided in advance.


• Happy to prepare meals and complete light child-related household duties.


• A driver with a full driving licence, access to a suitable car and willingness to transport the children.


• Willing and able to become Ofsted registered.

Qualifications and checks

A relevant Level 3 childcare qualification and current paediatric first-aid certificate are desirable. Appointment will be subject to Freedom Care’s safer recruitment and onboarding requirements, including appropriate references, right-to-work checks and an enhanced DBS check. Being registered with the DBS Update Service would be helpful.

What we offer

£16 per hour to start, increasing to £17 per hour once Ofsted registration is completed.

A rota normally available around eight weeks in advance.
