Job Description - National Account Executive UK Grocery

We are currently recruiting for a National Account Executive to support the UK Grocery channel, with a primary focus on Sainsbury’s. This is an excellent opportunity for either an early-career commercial professional looking to build a strong foundation in FMCG sales, or a step-up candidate ready to take on greater ownership and accelerate their path toward National Account Management.
This role sits at the heart of the commercial team and plays a critical part in delivering profitable growth through strong forecasting, analysis, and customer collaboration.
Your Next Pour: The Opportunity:
Customer & Commercial Support
Support the day-to-day management of the Sainsbury’s account, ensuring smooth execution of plans and priorities.
Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support account performance.
Prepare customer materials, reports, and analysis to support meetings and reviews.
Forecasting & Financial Management
Own account forecasting in collaboration with Finance and Demand Planning, including base, promotional, and NPD forecasts.
Ensure a high level of financial accuracy across sales, promotions, and investments.
Support period-end processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
Promotions & Performance Analysis:
Evaluate promotional performance and provide clear insights and recommendations.
Administer and track promotional investment, including invoice validation, deductions, and claims.
Own Trade Promotion and Settlement reporting, delivering weekly, monthly, and ad hoc analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Category, Shopper Marketing, Supply Chain, eCommerce, and Merchandising to maximise in-store and online performance.
Support annual customer business planning and joint initiatives.
Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of business processes, including SAP and TPM systems.
Field & Execution Support
Support field priorities and execution calendars as required to ensure plans land effectively in store.
This list covers the main duties you will undertake but other duties will be required and added to as required to meet project and business needs. Flexibility to support the business is essential to the role.
The Perfect Blend: Experience
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
Confident communicator, comfortable presenting data and influencing internally.
Strong analytical capability, with a high level of attention to detail, enabling the ability to produce accurate reports and analysis
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP or TPM systems is an advantage but not essential.
Solid understanding of core financial concepts such as forecasting, investment, and ROI
This role is suitable for candidates at different stages of their commercial career. You may be an early-career professional with strong potential, or someone already operating at Account Executive level and ready to step up.

This role is based in Farringdon (London) and it will be required to come to the office once a week.
